Awards
End Seventies brought the firm fresh accolades as it won awards in a number of design competitions. Recognition came in the form of commission for a number of Government, Quasi Government and institutional projects that not only put DMA on a stable road to success but it also shaped its future as one of the leading architectural firms of the city. The building boom of the late Eighties and early Nineties gave the firm an opportunity to grow and spread its wings. Today, Kolkata is a city of the future, its growth and its progress is reflected in its changing architectural face, and DMA is playing a significant role in reshaping the city's skyline. Moving ahead, however, does not mean breaking away from the past. Bengal has a rich heritage and conserving it is a challenge for the state's architectural fraternity. It is a challenge DMA has willingly taken up and is involved in many restoration and reuse projects.
