The concept has been guided by the very specific requirements of a foreign mission. Three separate blocks with definite use patterns have been laid out around the central courtyard thereby giving a sense of security and privacy to the main office building.The façade, given a rich texture with Panna stone cladding and use of strong geometric forms renders a sculptural quality to the low rise form.

The proposed Capitol Complex comprising of the Legislative Assembly and the Secretariat sits on a site of 10 Acres with an overall area of 45535 sq.m. The campus comprises of four blocks comprising of

• The iconic Main Assembly hall and its allied services
• The Annexe-1 highrise block comprising of the Minister's Chambers and 10 nos Committee rooms
• The Annexe-2 or the Secretariat Block comprising of office establishments of Speaker, Principal Secretary, Joint and Additional Secretaries, PWD offices, a 600 capacity Auditorium, banquets, a 250 capacity seminar hall, conference halls for both Lower House and Upper House
• A Multilevel car parking block.

The campus is deemed to be a Green project equipped with all state of the art facilities in HVAC system, illumination with automatic energy saving devices, advanced audio visual system for the Assembly Hall, auditorium, committee rooms, seminar halls and banquets, acoustic screening, ICT/Telecommunications, dual plumbing features, fire detection and fire fighting systems, CCTV, BMS and advanced security systems.

The State Convention Centre for HIDCO at New Town is deemed to be one of the largest convention facilities in the country. The campus comprises of

• The Main Convention Block housing the main Convention Hall of 3000 seating capacity, 2 smaller capacity auditoriums, 4 large Exhibition halls including a State Banquet, spacious pre function areas, extensive food and beverage facilities and a garden food court.
• The Business Hotel comprising of a business centre, 100 twin bedded rooms, a business club, a spa with a roof top pool.
• A Multilevel parking block

The campus is deemed to be a ‘ green’ building project with all modern amenities and services like HVAC, illumination with LED fixtures and auto control, dual plumbing, audio visual systems, fire detection and suppression system, CCTV, security and surveillance and IBMS.

Core Capital Complex, Jharkhand

The formation of the Jharkhand state is a culmination of a long post independent struggle for a recognition of its unique tribal cultural heritage. Its rich mineral wealth, second only to Chattisgarh, and its mineral based industrial developments based in Bokaro, Jamshedpur, Ranchi and Dhanbad carry a huge potential for future growth and optimism. Jharkhand is also known for its vast forest resources.

The Capital  City with the Assembly Complex and the adjacent Secretariat Complex is a state icon that should reflect the spirit and the essence of the state and its population.
In the predetermined master plan, the Assembly Complex and the Secretariat zone forms a nucleus around which the residential district fans out in a radial pattern.

• Accordingly he envisages the layout in clustered forms around courtyards to create a cooler microclimate during summer and ward off cold winds during winter. This also creates intimate and interactive spaces for diverse user groups
•  The design envisages maximum use of natural ventilations through use of fissures on walls, skylights and open to sky courtyards for minimizing energy consumption.
•  The original vision of the architect is a response to the harsh climatic conditions of Chotanagpur.

CULTURAL COMPLEX CUM REGIONAL CENTRE FOR ICCR

Project Status: Completed in 2008

The Cultural complex cum Regional Centre is a significant cultural hub in Kolkata. It hosts important art and craft exhibitions, product and book launching programmes, theatres and musical soirees both for Government functions and key organizations and personalities. The complex boasts of multiple venues like exhibition halls, sculpture court, a small auditorium, library, archives and a cafeteria. A business centre with meeting rooms and conference facilities and an adjacent guest house at the topmost level completes the multi pronged activity centres within the campus.

• The design responds to the undulating  site with a distinct backdrop of old mansoleums, enveloping it with a strong sense of history.
• Two distinct functional characters : institutional and residential integrated into one.
• Main institutional building forms the core with a ghat like stepped waterbody at the centre of the open to sky court.
• The residential blocks spills out in an organic growth pattern away from the institutional core with strong interplay of solids and voids.
• The red sandstone and Dholpur cladding with the variation in heights and masses creates an impression of a ruined 'Quila', successfully binding with the historic background.

PathaBhavan Girls' Hostel, Vishwabharati, Santiniketan

The horizontal sprawl is a distinctive throwback to the Kerala style of temple architecture where due to heavy rainfall the roof structure is characterized by long overhanging eaves. It is also comparable to the pagoda type tiered structure of the Himalayan states and south-east Asian countries.

The structure carries a sense of mysticism being half hidden amidst the rich surrounding foliage of the tea garden.

Kala Bhavan Graphic Studio, Vishwabharati, Santiniketan

•  Tagore's strong Japanese influence of minimalism.
•  Solid structures with constrained embellishments and overhanging eaves.
• The Patha Bhavan Hostel and the Kala Bhavan Graphic Studio has been imbued with the above doctrine to blend with the campus.
• IIA award for outstanding  contribution in semi rural architecture.

IIM Hostels, Joka

• The Institute is situated on a vast sprawling campus dominated by lakes and low grassland with a dense backdrop of trees.
• The hostel consists of 100 single seated rooms with individual verandahs, common toilet facilities, dining and kitchen areas and recreation rooms.
• The stepped pyramidal form embodies the architects concept of low hillocks arising from a grassy expanse.
• The form created individual open terraces for each room as a sit-out space.
• The two end blocks enclosing the quadrangle act  as tunnels to catch the breeze and direct its flow to the rooms.

Sports Authority of India, Kolkata

The complex is on a 35 acre site with a minimal built-up area.
Object was to create buildings which would appear to be commanding and voluminous that would harmonize with the flat playing areas.
Juxtaposition of forms such as triangles, circles and rectangles in their purest form creating a rhythmic composition.
